Overview of Position

Metro North is a church plant in Sterling Heights, MI. Right now we are worshipping in the pastor's home with 30 people twice a month and are planning to officially launch in a public space  with weekly services January 29, 2023. Over the next few years we plan to grow to about 200 people.

The Music Director of Metro North will lead congregational worship and help implement a modern liturgical worship style where people meet God and experience renewal in the Gospel.

This is a part time position that could require anywhere from 5-15 hours per week, depending on our growth and the worship leader’s capacity.  As such, compensation could be in a range of $500 to $1,500 per month. This position could grow even further with more pay and responsibilities in the future.

Responsibilities

• Main Worship Leader on Sundays.

• Recruit other Christian musicians

• Establish an "Onramp" for others to participate

• Schedule Teams and Musicians

• Organize and lead rehearsals

• Develop a song list in dialogue with the pastor that will be in the regular repertoire of congregation.

• Select music for worship four weeks in advance

• Meet with the pastor as necessary

Qualifications

• Loves Jesus Christ

• Able to sing and lead from guitar or piano/keyboard

• Able to communicate effectively with others and lead organized meetings

• Possess personal skills to network in the community

• A commitment to worship music done with excellence
